A solid support is a stationary phase over which a mobile phase is passed and gets absorbed, in order to achieve intended separation of the analyte takes place. The solid support is a porous solid, which includes media, adsorbents, and resins. A chromatography media acts as a support to which the ligands of the analytes get attached, while the adsorbent is a high surface area porous substance, which adsorbs substances onto its surface. The resins in the solid support are for high resolution separations with high chemical stability.
