Radio frequency identification (RFID) smart label is one of the most widely used systems in the world, followed by acousto-magnetic (AM) labels. These systems transmit signals at a center frequency of 8.2 MHz. When the label is attached to a product, it responds to the set frequency emitted by a transmitter antenna.

 

RFID label comprises an antenna, for transmitting and receiving signals, and an RFID chip (or integrated circuit) which stores the label’s ID and other information. Some of the major applications of RFID include electronics & IT asset, equipment, retail inventory, books & documents, pallet, parcel & luggage, perishable goods, and others. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a process of identifying unique items using radio waves. RFID smart labels allow you to retain bar code/shipping label information using the additional feature of passive RFID. These labels also offer added protection to the RFID chip from heat, dust, and humidity.
