Bacterial biopesticides are biopesticides that consist of a microorganism (Bacterium) as the main active ingredient. Bacterial biopesticides can control different kinds of pests, such as butterfly, moths, lepidoptera, bacterial pathogens, etc.

The most widely used bacterial biopesticides are Bacillus thuringiensis (or Bt), which consists of 90% of the Global Bacteria PIP market. Each strain of this bacterium produces a different mix of proteins, and specifically kills one or a few related species of the insect larvae.
